To Whom Does History Belong?

To whom does history belong?
That which has been bathed
In the blood of my brothers?
Sanguine, the color that bursts
From the mortal breasts
Of we divided by race and ideology
And oppression and bigotry.

Decreed by our very nature.

To whom does history belong?
What is written can never be true.
What is known can never be whole.
For I know not what fatal shot
Ended the account of the unlucky man
In the pursuit of a piece of land
That we leave nonetheless.

Decreed by our very nature.

To whom does history belong?
A question that shall find no answer
Until the day that victors see
That they have lost
Until the day that the defeated voice
Cries out triumph
From the very bosom of the earth.
