Rest

The sun sets upon the horizon;
Its light dimmed upon the pages
By the continuous motion
Of the passing ages.

The time has come to rest:
Laying down the pen and sword
Defiantly beating one’s breast
Whilst braving the brazen ford.

There is a hole in the heart
That in time will be filled.
The time that will be spent apart
Shall be time the people willed.
