That Time of Day

It’s that time of day once more;
The sun is setting on the horizon,
Its flickering light at the door:
A final goodbye to this day’s liaison.

One final step, one final jump,
Is all it takes to end the day.
One final grasp, one final thump,
To take it all, forever all, away.

Yet it comes not, the awaited push;
The grasp towards tomorrow is not made.
The wearied soul must yearn to rush
Before time quickly starts to fade.
