Embrace

I long for your embrace.
Days and nights I slave endlessly
That I may finally see your face,
Someday, somehow, in a world needlessly
Preoccupied with the mundane deeds
Of antiquity and henceforth.
I count my prayers on the dearest beads;
Like the arduous days that we are apart, are made worth
More than time turned golden,
Just as wine from the vineyard made ready
For a victorious feast sodden
Not with drink nor with sun, but by your subtle touch made steady.
