Ten-Minute Poem

9:50:00 PM

I write this poem in only ten minutes.
Oh, a minute has passed.
Two minutes… Three. (And I have no rhyme for “minutes”)
The word I can rhyme for passed is amassed
Now I’m feeling crazy over this poem
Because I can’t find the right words
It’s raining outside my home
Well, that’s a start, it’s raining hordes
Of a-drip-drop a-dripping…
This is the meaning of brainstorm, I guess
Just letting ideas come a-flow-flow a-flowing
But I digress
A ten-minute poem, what can it capture?
I look at the dictionary
(Because I don’t know the meaning of rapture)
Find out that it’s not of the ordinary
So yeah, I guess you don’t need a message
For a poem of minutes ten
For what’s a poem but to capture the rapture of a passage
Of ten minutes written.
