Red, Biting Ants

I opened my closet one trivial day,
And saw ants that nibble and chomp and bite.
Lo! Found red, biting ants, to my dismay,
Red, biting ants that don’t give up a fight.
A thousand and one ways to kill red ants,
You can tape, spray, pound, kick, crush, rip and punch,
Mince, curse, cut, crunch, boil, slash and plague with rants,
Yet they’ll still come back, after you eat lunch.
Darn these red, biting ants that eat through wood,
That eat through foil, that line with precision,
Alas, an enemy so bad, they’re good!
A foe to respect with admiration.
Let them bite, for they do that they may live,
They’ll teach us a lesson on how to give.
