The Richest Privateer

Oh yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
Sailin’ the seas for the buccaneer’s sum!
With just a map and a leaky old keel,
And a gulp of rum, and a brand of steel!

Oh-yo-ho-ho off to riches galore!
Shovin’ off to the thousand pearly shores.
So mark the course through the red widows’ straits
To the prize our eyes so patiently waits.

Oh yo-ho-ho off the far shores we go,
With the wind on our backs and oars to row!
Off we go! Off we go! Off we go there!
To treasure! And adventure! Leave all care!

Oh yo-ho-ho through the waves and the stone,
Through the watery desert moves alone,
Craft of crude beginning and rude making,
‘Gainst this twirl swirl of troubles painstaking.

Oh yo-ho-ho at last to cutlass hold!
Brown maggots and red leeches, cruel and bold!
With steel and powder drive back those leeches!
From booty holds back the skivvy breeches!

Oh yo-ho-ho to the treasure let’s meet!
And taste the spoils of our riches so sweet!
But within the chest, curious, was a note,
“Peace on earth!”, was what the silly one wrote.
