Built a castle on sandy shores,
That boasted power and vigor.
Admired by those of steady course,
Now lacking thy fervent ardor.

Beauty was her crowning glory,
And majesty flowed from her walls.
Now but a nest of wicked folly,
Sleep grasps her soonly yet she stalls.

Fire consume thee, O cruel city!
By the evils of the sea, cease!
Pass verdict upon enmity,
O Destroyer! Raze to thy knees!
