Hope

If there’s one thing I love more than playing sports, sleeping the day away or just going out is reading the editorials…

Sounds geeky? Well, to you maybe. But reading these have made me a better man.

I love to read the views of Isagani A. Cruz on politics and morality, the views of Solita Monsod on relevant topics, the Homilies of Fr. Jerry M. Orbos (that I look forward to every single Sunday morning… Thank you Father!) and many, many more.

But I love the most in the editorials the section dedicated to the youth, the “Young Blood” column. Here, I read the views, opinions, dreams, and hopes of my generation. It is good to see that not all of us have strayed far from the path of righteousness. It is good to see that even today, we uphold the values of our ancestors. It is good to see that we are still active in today’s world and not ignorant as some adults would say. It is good to see that we are indeed, the hope of the future.

The saying “The world’s going mad!” is not true. But if you’re going to let yourself be convinced by this silly paradigm, then be my guest. But for me, hope is here. Salvation is here. In me… in you… in us.

“Heroes are made, not born”. The strongest of men were once the least.
